Help us name our new snow groomer!

Funding from the Summit County Restaurant Tax Grant has helped Park City Municipal purchase a new groomer, a PistenBully 100. This groomer will be used by Park City and Mountain Trails Foundation to maintain the community's multi-use trails. Park City and Mountain Trails Foundation seek the community's help to name this important piece of machinery! This machine will operate daily throughout the winter in Round Valley, Bonanza Flat, and other places we know and love to recreate. Together, let's name this remarkable machine and celebrate its role in shaping the future of cross-country skiing in Park City! Carefully review the rules below prior to submission:

1. Eligibility:

  • The competition is open to individuals of all ages.
  • Participants must have a valid email address to enter.

2. Submission Period:

  • The competition begins on December 22, 2023.
  • All submissions must be received by January 8, 2024.

3. Submission Guidelines:

  • Submission cannot be an individual’s name (past or present).
  • Submission cannot include a business or organization’s name (past or present).
  • Each participant can submit up to TWO unique names for the new groomer.
  • Considerations may take inspiration from Park City’s history and culture, winter sport, natural environment in a clever and positive manner.
  • Include the participant's name, contact information, and a brief explanation of the chosen names.

4. How to Submit:

  • Participants can submit their entries below.

5. Judging Criteria:

  • Entries will be judged based on creativity, relevance to winter sports culture and Park City, and the overall appeal of the name.
  • The top submissions, as determined by a judging committee, including representatives from Park City Municipal Corporation and Mountain Trails Foundation, will proceed to the public voting phase.

6. Public Voting:

  • The top submissions will be showcased on the official competition website for public voting.
  • The public can vote for their favorite name among the finalists.
  • The entry with the highest number of public votes will be declared the winner.

7. Prize:

  • The winning name will be adopted for the new groomer, and PCMC will install a decal on the groomer showing off its new name
  • No monetary prize or other award will be given to the winner.

8. Winner Announcement:

  • The winning name will be announced on January 24, 2024 through the official competition website and Park City's communication channels.
  • The winner will also be notified via email.

9. Intellectual Property:

  • By submitting an entry, participants grant Park City Municipal Corporation the right to use, modify, and reproduce the submitted names for any and all purposes without needing further permission and without compensation of any kind for the submitters.

10. Disqualification:

  • Entries not adhering to the rules and guidelines will be disqualified.
  • Offensive, inappropriate, or copyrighted names will be disqualified.

11. Contact:

By participating in the competition, participants agree to abide by these rules and any decisions made by the judging panel, public vote, Park City Municipal, and project partners. Park City Municipal reserves the right to modify the rules or cancel the competition at its discretion.
