A Place to Live, Work + Create

The Park City Arts and Culture District will be a community-oriented town center where locals can gather and collaborate around film, food, media and visual arts, music, writing, and more. The Park City Arts and Culture District is a cooperative project between Park City Municipal, Kimball Art Center, Sundance Institute, and other local arts partners.

Situated on 5.25-acres in the Bonanza Park neighborhood, the site includes a food hall, studio and media arts buildings; a transit café, co-op artist studios, and 50 units of affordable housing.

City Council has spent dozens of hours in public meetings over the last six months evaluating the proposed project, taking deep dives on transportation, housing, design, and funding aspects of the proposal. Most recently, on February 25 the Council reviewed a proposed financial plan for the City's portion of the District. The Council discussed options for how the project could move forward focusing on whether to include affordable housing as part of the buildout or consider adding housing at a later date.

Full buildout of the city-owned spaces includes:

  • Studio and media arts spaces
  • Food hall
  • Flexible event/performance space
  • Transit amenities
  • Exhibition space
  • For-rent co-op studios
  • Retail spaces for artists and makers

The Council continues to receive public comment and feedback about the District. Community feedback is critically important as this discussion leads to a formal Council decision.
