Park City, the first snowflakes are just around the corner!

Winter is approaching quickly, and we're expecting it to be a busy one. Park City Transit is proposing a variety of changes to meet expected transit demand, including some new types of transit service. Read below for an overview of our proposed plan. Share your input and view key details using the menu on the right-hand side of this page (desktop) or the bottom of this page (mobile devices).

Here's a quick overview of proposed winter 2022-2023 changes:

  • Resume service for the winter season on the 3 Blue, 50 Teal, and City-Wide
  • Establish new bus routes with service to the Richardson Flat park & ride
  • Launch microtransit service as part of a temporary pilot program
    • Service to Upper Park Meadows, *PC Heights, Quinn's Junction, Thaynes Canyon (north of Thaynes Cnyn Dr.), and the Royal Street area
  • Improve frequency during peak hours on the 1 Red**, 2 Green, 3 Blue, and 5 Yellow**
  • Resume winter service hours on the 4 Orange, 9 Purple, and Trolley

*Additional input is required, given that fixed-route service is also proposed for PC Heights as a part of the new bus routes to Richardson Flat park & ride.

What's the difference between Option 1 and Option 2?

**In the tables below, Option 1 and Option 2 refer to two different levels of service we're considering for this winter. The final option put into service will be determined by public input, available funding, expected transit demand, and council direction.

In Option 1, the Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, and proposed Richardson Flat park & ride bus routes would run every 20 minutes during peak hours.

In Option 2, the Green and Blue would still run every 20 minutes during peak hours for better connections to proposed microtransit service. The Red and Yellow routes would run every 30 minutes — but would combine with the improved 15-minute frequency of the Richardson Flat park & ride routes for buses every 5-15 minutes at key bus stops, such as the High School.
