Park City is advancing the next phase of improvements along Three Kings Drive to improve pedestrian safety and neighborhood connectivity.
A Vision Study has been completed, and a recommended approach is tentatively scheduled for discussion at City Council on June 11, 2026. View Park City Council Meetings Agenda/Meeting Info. (Please note that agendas are published around one week prior to meetings.)
Community members are encouraged to attend in person or online and provide public comment. Written comments to the City Council can only be submitted by emailing council_mail@parkcity.gov.
Additionally, City Staff will be present to discuss the vision study and recommended concept at the Spring Open house scheduled for June 2, 2026.
Recommended Concept
Based on technical analysis and community input, staff is recommending:
A continuous 6-foot sidewalk along the east side of Three Kings Drive
Located behind curb and gutter for separation from traffic
Targeted roadway narrowing in select areas to reduce impacts
This approach was identified as the most balanced solution—improving safety while minimizing impacts to adjacent properties and neighborhood character.
Community input helped shape this recommendation. Key themes included:
Strong recognition of pedestrian safety concerns, especially in winter
Preference for a narrow, low-impact solution rather than a wide pathway
Desire to preserve vegetation and neighborhood character
Recognition that different segments of the corridor function differently
These themes were evaluated alongside feasibility, cost, and operational considerations in the Vision Study.
Project Background
The Thaynes Walkability Project improves walking and biking connections between neighborhoods, transit, and key destinations like Silver Star and Park City Mountain.
Phase I (Thaynes Canyon Dr.) – Completed Fall 2025
Phase II (Three Kings Dr.) – Vision Study completed, moving toward design
Three Kings Drive currently lacks a continuous pedestrian facility, creating conflicts between vehicles and pedestrians—particularly during winter conditions.
