Consultation has concluded

Project Goal

To discuss and identify mobility, accessibility, and traffic calming improvements for the Upper Main Street area. The study area includes the intersections of Main Street, Swede Alley, Park Avenue, Daly Avenue, and King Road. Beginning in May 2022, focus group members comprised of residents and business community representatives have been meeting and working with Park City Municipal staff and project consultants to collaboratively identify key concerns and discuss solutions to improve the safety and design of the upper Main Street intersections. Work on this project will not commence until the project team, and elected officials have had thorough engagement and feedback from focus group members.

Project Overview

Phase I: Construct improvements on the location's south end and minor redesign of Main Street & Swede Alley in the summer of 2023. The primary purposes are to provide a balanced separation of the neighborhood and commercial land uses and to improve pedestrian safety and active transportation connectivity.

Phase II: Further evaluate improvements at the intersection of Main Street & Swede Alley for pedestrian safety, placemaking, and traffic patterns. The Project Team proposes to continue engagement focused at the Main and Swede intersection and revisit improvements at a future date to continue a larger community discussion.
