Dark Sky Land Management Code Amendments

The protection of the night sky has long been a priority for Park City, but the lighting regulations haven’t been updated since 1998. A lot has happened since then. The goal of the proposed outdoor lighting amendments is to incorporate International Dark Sky standards to protect the City’s starry sky. The updated regulations will also better align with Summit County’s recently adopted lighting code.

The first phase of amendments include outdoor lighting for residential and commercial uses.

We want to hear from you! Please email your input: rebecca.ward@parkcity.org and liz.jackson@parkcity.org.
